Kalimpong, situated at an altitude of 1,250 metres, is surrounded by the lush green mid ranges of the Himalayas and has an incredible stunning backdrop of towering snow capped peaks. A small hill station between Siliguri and Gangtok, Kalimpong offers excellent views of the Mt. Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan Peaks . The popular view points in this beautiful town are Durpin Dara and Deoro Hill. Other attractions include three Buddhist Monastries, orchid nurseries, a sericulture centre and Dr. Graham's Home, a large sprawling school set up in 1900 for educating the children of tea workers.Kalimpong enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year but the best time to visit this place is from March to Mid-June; Mid-September to December.
