Cathay Pacific Airlines History
Cathay Pacific Airways was founded in Hon Kong in September 1946 by American Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney Kantzow. The airline was initially based in Shanghai but later moved over to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific initially operated flights to Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai expanded to be eventually owned by the Swire Group.
