Singapore Airlines is the national carrier of Singapore and has evolved to be the most respected and leading travel brands in the world. The airline has its hub at Changi Airport, Singapore from where it operates flights to all major countries in 90 destinations around the world. Singapore Airlines History

The history of Singapore Airlines traces back to May 1, 1947 when Malayan Airways Limited Airspeed Consul took off from Singapore's Kallang Airport to Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Penang. The airline was known as Malayan Airways initially and expended over the next 20 years to be an independent entity to form Singapore Airlines, as it is known today.

Singapore Airlines Fleet

Singapore Airlines has one of the modern, youngest and comfortable fleets in the world with an average fleet age of about 6 years. The Fleet consists of Airbus A380-800s, A380-500s and A340-500s and Boeing B747-400s, B777-300ERs, B747-200s, B777-200ERs aircrafts.

Singapore Airlines Operations

Singapore Airlines currently flies to more than 90 countries around the world with a major presence in South Asia, East Asia and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Currently, Singapore Airlines has flights to over 100 destinations from its primary hub in Singapore and operates two of the world's longest commercial flights to Los Angeles and Newark respectively. In India, Singapore Airlines flies to Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Calcutta and Bangalore.
