Kingfisher has been one of the most ambitious entries into the airlines foray so far. A significant part of India 's Growth story has been the super companies that we have spawned so far. One of the leading names here is that of UB group which has become one of the largest beverage company of the world. It has also been one of the most aggressive one too which can be seen in its recent acquisition of several beverage giants. So when this firm launched its own airlines "Kingfisher Airlines" named after its Brewery Brand it was clear that the market will soon see tremendous competition coming from them.

Led by Dr. Vijay Mallya it has charted an exceptional story in a very short time. Since its inception it has already captured 10% percent market share. This is just one of the indicators of aggressive performance of Kingfisher Airlines.

Just one month after its inception Kingfisher went on to reveal its grand international plans by revealing its intention to purchase several large capacity aircrafts from Airbus including the first Indian order for the Airbus A380s. Since then Kingfisher Airways has been continuously vying for permission to fly international flights despite current Indian regulations not allowing it to do so till the year 2010. In the Dubai Air show 2005 Kingfisher Airway's ambitions were again revealed as it placed order for 50 more aircrafts including 20 Turbo Props ATR-72.

Kingfisher Airline has become one of the major players in the luxury airline segment with its services. Its modern and charming services on board its flight and in its airport lounges have been a class apart and are setting standards throughout India . Kingfisher Airlines' flight offer multi Channel video facilities, on-demand movies and exquisite cuisines to its flyers. It currently flies to 34 destinations and plans are coming for further expansion.
