GoAir was established in the year 2005 with the aim of capturing the low cost airline market of India . Go air was created by Jeh Wadia of the Wadia Group of India and stated its main purpose as "making domestic travel in India an affordable commodity". The flights of GoAir airlines started with 20 Airbus A320 leased by it which operated in South and western Aviation sectors of India . GoAir Airways soon made it clear that it intended to be a very aggressive participant in the airline sector, this intention became clear as Go Air airlines entered into negotiation for many aircrafts with both Boeing and Airbus in the year 2005.
GoAir's majority stake holder the Wadia group which owns many large firms in other sectors like Britannia soon started showing the effect of their experience in competitive market with rapid capture of market share in its segment by GoAir airways . Recently GoAir has tied up with Radixx International of Orlando, Florida to manage its reservation and passenger management systems and GoAir Flight management system. GoAir flights currently cater to many important destinations across India operating around 385 flights every week. GoAir airline's in-flight service is in line with the current trends of the low cost carriers in India, offering seat allotment during check-in by the passenger and offers snacks and beverages on sale on by its crew onboard the flight. GoAir had also started many subsidiary services like Cyber Cafes and travel agencies to promote and expand itself. Overall GoAir airline has scripted a satisfactory growth in very few years and has a fighting chance of become a leader in the aviation industry in India .
