All flights domestic and international, travel to and from the Goa Airport at Dabolim, which is near the port town of Vasco-da-Gama. The airport is about a 30-km drive from Goa's capital, Panaji. Apart from the state run carrier Air India (merged entity of Indian and Air India), a lot of private players including Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Spice Jet all offer economical travel options.
International travelers also have an additional option of chartered flights direct into Goa from UK.
By Rail
The two major railway stations in Goa is at Margao and Vasco-da-Gama, both of which are in the southern part of the state. Konkan Railway offers a breathtaking trip through the Goan countryside. Train journey along the Konkan Railway from Mumbai to Goa takes 10 hours and around 15 hours from Mangalore. Trains also ply from Delhi to Goa.
By Road
For the thrill seekers driving is a great option. The route connecting Mumbai to Goa takes you through winding roads and picturesque ghats. For others, the state owned Kadamba Transport Corporation operates buses from most of the neighboring cities. Apart from that there are a lot of Volvo buses, which connect Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore to Goa. Other economic options are also available. The bus journey from Mumbai to Goa can take anywhere between 12-16 hrs.
