Thiksey Monastery - Located at a distance of 18 kms from Leh, this beautiful monastery is set atop a hill. The Indus River flows in the valley below. The monastery is a revered place of worship for the followers of the Gelugs-pa sect or the Yellow-Hat Sect.
Hemis Monastery - It is the largest monastery or Gompa in Ladakh and was built in 1630. The monastery is located about 45 kms south of Leh. The gompa is also the site for the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Padmasambhava held for two days in June-July.
Tso Moriri - A great place to getaway is the Tso Moriri. Located at a distance of 217 kms from Leh, it is an area where you are sure to experience the oneness with nature. The area is known for its clear lake surrounded by mountains. Overnight accommodations are available in tents and cottages in the area.
