The markets in Leh are flooded with small gift items, curios and souvenirs. The cold terrain makes it a big market for woolen products including the famous Pashmina. You can adorn yourself in a Pashmina shawl, stole or other garments. Woolen Caps, Gloves, Socks, Sweaters are popular buy in Leh.
Tibetan handicraft items including Buddhist Masks, Prayer Wheels, cymbals with religious motifs, silverware, decorative copper and brass trumpets, shell bangles, Thangka Paintings are a favorite with shoppers. Leh is also an excellent place to buy precious and semi-precious stones. The markets stock Turquoise from Tibet , Rubies from Burma , Lapis Lazuli from Afghanistan among others.
